Out of the Blue Tee
In the spring of 1946, J. Robinson began his professional baseball career by becoming the first African-American drafted into the all-white baseball league. Due to the racially charged nature of spring-training/practice fields and the Dodgers lack of their own training facility at the time, Robinson was forced to begin his spring training further south in sunny Havana, Cuba. In homage to Robinson's barrier-breaking and the generosity of the Cuban people we offer this tee on the eve of the upcoming "Jackie Robinson Day".
